For example, in my home we have one bedroom running on our Skyecrafts Starter PV System.  This is off grid.  We use a modified sine wave GP inverter.  What is the difference? Our ceiling fan makes more of a noise. Of course, a major difference is price. You will find modified sine wave inverters much cheaper then pure sine wave.
